Chatterbox by MAC

Hi guys!

So I've added yet another MAC lipstick to my collection! This one is called Chatterbox, and I have actually never heard of it before. This time when I went to the MAC counter, I went with the intentions of getting either Candy Yum Yum or Snob, but unfortunately, I didn't like either of those on me. They're gorgeous colors, but just not on me, so I was a little sad. I was then going to grab Russian Red to give my Ruby Woo a break, but I decided to get something I have never heard of before and save the Russian Red for later. I do not know if I have mentioned this in a previous post, but I actually do not have a lot of pink lipsticks, which is ironic because pink is my favorite color. As for lipsticks, purple is my favorite to wear on my lips. I decided to look for a pink lipstick, and the lady at the counter showed me Chatterbox which is a playful, flirty pink.

I loved it actually. It was just what  I was looking for! Since I already have a really really bold pink I was looking for something a little more soft, and this was definitely it.

I love the color and it is perfect for the season. Definitely fun for a night out with the girls or a date night!

Until next time!

Up the Amp by MAC

Hi guys!

I've finally got Up The Amp lipstick by MAC! This was a color on my list to get from MAC, and I'm very excited that I finally have it!

Although I have tons of purple lipstick of all shades, I don't think I have one this light. Up The Amp is one of MAC's amplified lipsticks so it is bright, but it is still a lighter purple. It is not as deep purple as Heroine, it is definitely lighter, but it is still a bright color. It looks a little dull when looking at it in the packaging, but you get a completely different look when you put it on. It is creme lipstick so it is not drying at all.

I have tried this color on in the stores plenty of times so I already knew what to expect when I put it on, and I still loved it!

I was taking a picture indoors so hopefully I captured the true color of the lipstick. As you can see, it is a fairly light purple, but still bright which I love. Perfect summer lip color! Flirty, pretty, and fun!

Hope you enjoyed the post!
Until next time!

This Or That Beauty Tag!

Hi guys! So I was browsing for fun beauty tags to do for a post, just to share a little bit about myself, and for you guys to get to know me a little better! I came across a "this or that" beauty tag, and I thought it would be perfect. No one tagged me, but who says someone has to tag you to do it? ;) Anyway, lets get into it!

CVS Grabs: Rimmel by Kate Lipstick 05 & Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stain + Balm

Hello there!

I am home for summer break, my last summer break as an undergrad might I add, and before I start work and summer classes, I have plenty of time on my hands. Today I was running to CVS to get a card for someone, and you know I can't be in CVS without perusing the cosmetic section...like I do in every store. Anyway, I didn't get a lot of items, but I got two lip colors, Rimmel by Kate Lipstick 05, and Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stain + Balm. I am going to show pictures and review both products. So, lets get into it!

Rimmel by Kate Lipstick 05
First, can we discuss how cute the packaging is? Adorable.

As you can see, the color is a pretty pink. It's not really a hot hot pink, but clearly it's not a soft pale pink either. I picked it out because I thought it would be great for summer. So I tried it on of course, and...

I love it! It's just what I was looking for. Even though pink is my favorite color, I really don't have that many pink lipsticks surprisingly. I do have Girl About Town by MAC, and I love that color. It's a much hotter pink than this color, however, but I still love this lip color because it's a great pink for the season. Also, this lipstick smells so good! Claps for Kate for good smelling lipstick! This can be found in drugstores for about $6.

Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stain + Balm

Unfortunately, I was not impressed with this product at all. As  you can see from the first photo, the lip stain is on one side, and the balm is on the other end. I have tons of purple lip colors, so I was looking for one that wasn't as dark, and wasn't as light as the ones I have. I guess you could say I was looking for a happy medium.

Anyway, I put this on and was highly disappointed. I do not know if it was just me, but the color on my lips was completely different from the color on the tube. The lip stain barely showed up, and it was more sheer than anything. I had to keep coating my lips to get it to show it, and it still barely showed up.I truly only got it because it was 50% off which made it a little over $5, and now I see why. Revlon typically has great products so I was a little upset that this was not what I thought I was.

Today I was 1 for 2 in my grabs, which is okay. I am in love with the Rimmel by Kate lipstick though. Definitely going to grab a few more shades! Hope you enjoyed the post!

Basic Essential Pieces for Summer

Hi guys!

I felt that it would be a good idea to share some of the basic pieces for any summer wardrobe that could be dressed up, or dressed down. I created this set on my Polyvore account. These pieces are very simple, great to mix and match, and complete a summer wardrobe. These pieces can be great for perfecting a certain look you may be going for.
1. Statement necklace: Statement necklaces are very in this season, and are very large necklaces with lots of flair that can spice up any simple outfit. For example, a plain tank top, and skirt could be completed with a bold necklace. These necklaces are easy to find because they are in just about any and every clothing or jewelry store. My suggestion for a easy place to find these would be a place like Charming Charlie.

2. Simple Black T-Shirt: This item is on the list for the simple reason that every woman needs a plain black t-shirt. You can dress it up with a statement necklace, or dress it down with sneakers. You can throw it on with a pair of jeans and sandals to run to the mall, or you can pair it with a pair of printed pants for a night out. It can go under a blazer, or a cardigan -- literally everything.

3. Skater Dress: First let me say, I'm not saying just a black skater dress, I'm saying any color/patterned skater dress. These style dresses have become very popular, and are great to dress up or dress down. These dresses can be paired with heels or wedges, or just a simple pair of sandals, or with a denim jacket even for chilly nights. These dresses complement just about everything, and are great for the season.

4. Striped Shirts: These shirts create a nautical look, and are great to go with anything. Stripes have always been in, and make any simple outfit fun. Stripes look great with red lips, too.

5. Simple White T-Shirt: I don't need to go into too much detail here, because the same things I said about black t-shirts apply for a white t-shirts also. Very versatile. Just make sure you don't spill anything on it! ;)

6. White Jeans: First off, white jeans are for spring and summer only. I am a firm believer that white jeans should be put away after Labor Day, unless it's winter white, and/or is made out of a corduroy material. Otherwise, leave these for the warm seasons. White jeans can obviously go with anything. Personally, my favorite colors to wear white jeans with are black and pink. Of course, they match with anything, but when I wear white jeans, those are usually the colors I pair them with because they are my favorites to wear. White jeans are so classy, and make any outfit instantly say something.

7. T-Strap Sandals: These sandals are great for completing any outfit. My personal colors to get these sandals in are black, brown, nude, silver, and gold. Also great for completing a simple outfit like jeans and a t-shirt, a dress or a skirt.

8. Maxi Dress: Maxi dresses scream summer to me. Maxi dresses whether printed or solid colored are prefect for basically any summer event. They look great with sandals, and wedges, and even look cute knotted at the side. They go with denim jackets, cardigans, and obviously look great by themselves. Whenever you feel you have nothing to wear, throw on a maxi dress! You'll look great effortlessly!

9. Maxi Skirts: Maxi skirts, much like maxi dresses are summer fashion. Printed, or solid, pleated or not, these are great for any summer event, just like maxi dresses. More straight and tighter maxi skirts look good with flowy shirts, and flowy maxi skirts look great with tighter shirts, like a plain t-shirt or tank top, or a printed t-shirt.

10. Denim Shirt: Denim shirts are great for any season because they go with everything. Denim shirts look good with maxi skirts, straight skirts, white pants, black pants, jeans, sandals, wedges, heels, sneakers you name it. They are super versatile, and complete any season wardrobe. Of course in the warmer season you may want to roll the sleeves up, or trade the denim shirt for a denim vest.

11. Gladiator Sandals: Gladiator sandals are super popular, and can be found anywhere. Like everything else on this list, they can be dressed up or dressed down. Much like t-strap sandals, they can complete any outfit.

12. Floral Printed Dress: Floral IS summer. Floral printed everything is in, and obviously complements the season. A floral printed dress in any colors, whether it's a sundress, maxi dress, skater dress or straight dress is a must have for the season.

I hope you all enjoyed this post! Feel free to check out my Polyvore account also! :)

Angel by MAC

Finally I have obtained Angel by MAC. I have wanted this color for so long, and I have finally added it to my MAC lipstick, and well lipstick collection in general. It's such a simple, classy, and yet flirty color. I love it! It's like a nude-pinkish color, and is great for an everyday color, especially for this season. MAC has awesome lipstick that lasts long and makes a statement. MAC lipsticks are $15. MAC Cosmetics can be found in MAC stores, and at MAC counters in Nordstrom.

Hopefully you guys can see the true color of the lipstick. Hope you enjoyed the post!

Favorite Spring & Summer Nail Colors!

Hi!

I've decided to share some of my favorite shades to wear on your fingers and toes for the spring and summer seasons. Many of these shades are bright, and light, except for one. These shades are wallet friendly, and look great on everyone, and go with any spring or summer outfit. Check them out!

I am a nail polish junkie, so trying to select like three or four colors didn't work, so I chose ten. (Don't judge)

Got A Date To-Knight by OPI

This is one of my favorite pinks ever. It is one of those go to shades when you want something classy, elegant, and pretty. It is OPI, which in my opinion is one of the gods of nail polish lines. OPI colors usually run about $9 a bottle, and can be found at beauty supply stores, Target, CVS, Rite Aids, and just about every drugstore. A little bit pricy, but worth it because it is such great quality nail polish. Sometimes this polish can be found at stores like Ross, TJ Maxx, and Marshalls for a lot cheaper. The most common places to find OPI polish is at any drugstore, and stores like Target, Walmart, etc. This color goes perfect with the warm weather seasons, will last long, and will look great on any skin complexion.

Cream Pink by Sinful Colors.
This color is a great choice if you are feeling a bright color. It is the perfect hot pink color, and can be found in Target, CVS, Rite Aid, and similar drugstores for no more than $3. Cheap right? Not only is this polish cheap, it is long lasting, and very good quality nail polish. I have many SC shades, which you will come to find out, but this is definitely one of my favorites. The perfect shade to go to when you are feeling fun and flirty!

Taxi Cab Creme by New York Color (NYC)
I LOVE yellow nail polish, and to me, next to white or pink, it is the perfect spring and summer shade! The perfect thing about this nail polish line is it is super cheap. Most bottles range from about $2 or $3. It can be found where most nail polish colors can be found, at any drugstore, or Target or Walmart. This color is not super bright yellow, but it is bright enough for me! When I want a bright statement nail color, this is my go to. I highly recommend this color. Your nails, or your wallet will not regret it!

Green With Envy by Sally Hansen
One of my favorite colors ever, I do not confine this color to just spring or summer. This is definitely a year round color for me, even though it is more suitable for the warmer months. I have had this color for years, and it still glides on very smoothly. It was a while before I had to drop some nail polish remover in it to smooth it out. This color does not take many coats to get the true color like some of the lighter colors, which is why it is so long lasting. These colors are about $3, and can be found at any drugstore, as well as Target and Walmart. Highly, highly recommend!!

Avocado by Love and Beauty by Forever 21
If you didn't know how great Forever 21's nail polish line is, you do now. Some of my favorite colors that I have gotten over the years have come from Forever 21. It is really long lasting. It goes almost a week without chipping! Not only is it fabulous nail polish, it is only $2.80! You honestly cannot beat it. This is a really pretty greenish- blue color, and definitely fits in with the theme of the warm month nail polish colors. Try it out!

Breezy Blue by Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear

This is a really light and cool blue. It does take a few coats to get to the color in the bottle because it glides on kind of sheer. However, it is still a great, and peaceful color to wear. As I mentioned with the previous Sally Hansen color, it is $3 a bottle, and well worth it. Very classy and elegant color.

Endless Blue by Sinful Colors
Literally one of my favorite colors EVER, and yes, another SC color. I got introduced to this color by one of my best friends, and I was addicted to it. A little dark compared to all of these colors, but I couldn't help myself. This color looks great in any season. This is the color you go to when you want a statement and bold nail. HIGHLY recommend!!!

Play Date by Essie
In my book, Essie nail polish is right up there with OPI. Though a little bit pricier than the rest of these colors, it is well worth the $9. Essie can be found at any drugstore, as well as Target and Walmart. If you feel like splurging, or trying a Essie color, try this one! It is my go to color when I really do not know what I am in the mood for. It is super pretty, and very long lasting. I love light purple and pink nail colors, and can never have enough. This was a gift to me from another one of my best friends, and it was funny she got it for me because I had gotten my nails done on my birthday that same day at the salon, and that was the color I picked! How ironic she got it for me. It was fate. Love, love, love this color!

Topless and Barefoot by Essie
Another Essie color yes, but that is because their colors are everything! I had been searching high and low for the perfect nude color, and this is definitely it. Nude is great for year round, and it is just really simple, but so elegant. It makes your hands look really clean and neat. If you are in the mood for simple, this is a great choice.

White on White by China Glaze
First let me say, my summer is not complete unless I rock a white mani and pedi for a minimum of two weeks. I LOVE white polish, and I love China Glaze. It's the perfect combination for me. White nails obviously go with everything, and is perfect for the season. White nails make a statement, and they just look great! It takes time to perfect a white mani, but once you do, you will never want to take the polish off. I do suggest going to a salon and getting them to do it so you don't have to stress yourself trying to get it perfect. China Glaze runs for about $4, and can be found at beauty supply stores, and Targets. I haven't seen it at too many drugstores, but beauty supply stores are where they have the biggest selection of China Glaze colors. You definitely have to try the white mani!! It's a summer nail polish must!

I hope you all enjoyed this post, and hopefully have found some new nail polish colors to flaunt for the season!
