Current Nails: We'll Always Have Paris by OPI

Happy Tuesday everyone!

I am SO sorry I haven't posted in a week! School is getting crazy, and this weekend I was going to post, but I went home for the weekend to rejuvenate, so I didn't get a chance to. Since school is getting so crazy, and my internship is picking back up, I'm going to attempt to post a minimum of twice a week. Some weeks it may only be once, but I really am going to try to keep it at twice. I have some exciting fall posts coming up, so be on the lookout for that! I also am planning on starting up a new blog soon focusing on entertainment, lifestyle, relationships and fashion, so I'll probably post more about that when that happens. It probably will not be until closer to the end of this year/ very early next year. Just another thing I have up my sleeve :) I am definitely going to keep this blog up and running though because I love this blog, and I want to sincerely thank those of you who read it, and keep up with me. I appreciate it! <3

Okay, moving on, I am back first with a nail post! Yay! This color is called We'll Always Have Paris by OPI, and fun fact, it's not even mine! It's my BFF/roomie's and I have been eyeballing it for a while, so she let me use it. I loveeee it, and it has made the list of nail colors that I want to buy. I wanted something dark for the start of fall, and I love deep purple nails. I have a color very similar to this, but it is old, and probably too clunky for wear. (I've also probably overdone it with the nail polish remover trick for clunky polish) Anywho, this is a great polish to kick off the season with, and I love dark nails. Probably more than bright colors. Dark nails are so trendy, and you can never go wrong. (Only for a job interview or something along those lines!) OPI is typically about $9 a bottle, but we all know how amazing OPI polish is. It took me about two coats to get the color of the bottle. Enough of me talking, check out my pictures below!

Thank you so much for reading! Stay tuned for exciting posts coming very soon!

Today I went to Drybar...

Happy Sunday everyone!

I hope everyone had a great weekend! My weekend was good, just not enough time! I'm already over school and it's only going into the fourth week. Anyway, on a happier subject, I spent this gorgeous Sunday trying out the Drybar! If you don't know what Drybar is, it's a blow out bar where they only do blowouts. The blowouts are $40, and they even have a menu of the type of blowouts. I got the Straight Up, which is straight with a little bit of body. I have never heard of Drybar until recently, when one of my parents' friend told me about it. We were supposed to go, but it never worked out, so instead she got me a gift certificate for a free blowout for my birthday, and I finally got around to using it. I Truthfully I was a little nervous to go because I was scared that they would not have any stylists that would be able to do my hair. I was pleasantly surprised to see such a diverse group of stylists that could do all hair. I requested a certain stylist because of the Yelp reviews I saw, and I was so excited that she was able to do my hair. Turns out we went to the same high school and are from the same area. She also paid very good attention to my needs hair wise, and how I like my hair to look. Needless to say, I'm very pleased with my hair, and it turned out better than I imagined. The staff was super friendly. I will definitely be back because $40 to get my hair done is about the normal amount I spend anyway, so I will definitely be back! Anyway, check out my pictures below!

It's set up SO cute in there right?! I wish I got more pictures, but I felt like a tourist snapping away at everything. Plus I wasn't waiting for long before I got called back. That's another plus, my appointment was at 2:15, and they called me back right then. Not a second sooner, not a second later. The whole trip was about an hour and fifteen.

I literally couldn't even wait until I got home to take a picture of it. I went to their bathroom just to take my selfie. Pressed.

My Drybar experience gets five stars no questions asked. My hair is so light and fluffy and very straight. I'm very big on the roots being straight because that's what makes my hair lay properly. Especially because I'm past due for a touch up so I needed the roots very straight. That was another thing my stylist paid careful attention to which I appreciated. But like I said, I will definitely be back, and my experience gets five stars. Check out Drybar's website here! Thank you so much for reading!

Black Girls Who Blog

Happy Friday everyone!

I hope you all had a great week, and have an exciting weekend planned! I wanted to do this post yesterday, but I came down with an awful migraine that I'm still sort of recovering from, and then the Steelers came on, so that thwarted my plans. However, I've been really excited to do this post ever since I found out this brand. For those of you who don't know, for us African American female bloggers, there is a t-shirt brand called Black Girls Who Blog, and they sell customized tees with your blog name on them! Cute, right? I ordered the shirt right before I went back to school, and like an idiot, got it ordered to my house even though I was moving out the next week. My parents were nice enough to bring it to me and I finally wore it yesterday! I got a lot of compliments on it. Check out my pictures below!

I was going to style it with a skirt, but I was doing tons of walking and running around all day, so I sort of changed my plans and wore it more simple. I love the shirt though! Check out Black Girls Who Blog here! Tees are $35 and my shipping was $5. It came really fast. The shirts are available in white, and black, and I believe they just released crewnecks as well!

Thanks for reading, and stay tuned for more exciting posts!
Until next time!

Lips of the Day!

Hey everyone!

I'm back with a quick post on my lips of the day! I feel like I show new lip colors often, but never really post when I wear them. Today, I combined two lip colors for a shiny, flirty red lip. I didn't want to wear Ruby Woo because I wanted something lighter feeling for the day if that makes sense. I decided to combine two reds that I have posted about previously to make a nice, daytime red! I wear Ruby Woo during the day as well, but I wanted something a bit less formal today. Basically I figured, what's the use in these two red lip colors if I wear Ruby Woo all the time? I mean, Ruby Woo is basically like the red lipstick of all red lipsticks in my opinion, but you know. Anyway, let me show you what I wore on my lips today!

In my left hand, I have the Rihanna Viva Glam MAC Lipglass, which I featured in a previous post. In my right hand, I have the Wet N Wild Megalast Balm Stain in the shade Red-dy or Not, which I also featured in another previous post

Basically all I did was put on the Wet N Wild Balm Stain first, then topped it with the Viva Glam. The balm stain is in the form of a pencil so it helps for lining also. I don't usually line my lips with lip liner, I usually just line with the lipstick or whatever lip color I am wearing. However, the balm stain is really good for lining. The lipglass added an extra shine and shimmer to it which helped boost the red.

I wore this all day, and really only reapplied twice. Both times I reapplied were after I ate. Even with drinking water and coffee, this did not really fade. It truthfully did not need reapplying, that's just me being a super girly girl. The stain stays on really well, as well as the gloss.

All in all, I really liked how it turned out, and how well it lasted throughout the day. I hope you enjoyed the post, and thanks for reading!

New Cheap Buys!

Hey!!

So, I've been running around like crazy this last week, and school is already picking up. I'm still getting adjusted to classes and just trying to get in a routine, so I apologize, I'm not neglecting my blog! Just getting adjusted, that's all. Anyway, back to the important stuff! So the other day I ran to Target, mainly to peruse the cosmetic section. I wound up grabbing a Elf blush and bronzer powder compact, and a Elf bronzing brush. I also grabbed a new nail color from Maybelline Color Show.

The contouring blush and bronzing powder was $3.00, the bronzing brush was $1.00, and the Maybelline polish was $3.34.

I have kind of been on the hunt for a blush because I don't have any blush, just bronzer. I decided to start off with a cheaper blush to see how I like it before I invest in a more expensive one. I tried it out, and I do like it. It is kind of light, so I think I'll look for a darker one, but until then, I'll just blend this one really well. It is kind of hard to see, but I still like it. The bronzer looks very pretty though. When I wear both of these out, I will definitely post the look. I also think the packaging is very cute and sleek. I just love Elf products.

Since I got new blush and bronzer, I felt it appropriate to get a new bronzing brush. I have an eyeshadow brush from Elf that I really like. I only have one blush/bronzing brush, but I needed another one and it was only a dollar. I'm telling you, you can't beat Elf! Just a quick note, the black Elf brushes are a few dollars more than the white brushes. If the white brushes are awesome, I'm sure the black brushes are great too.

You know I couldn't not pick up a nail color! I have been looking for a mauve color to bring in the fall. This is called Mauve in Manhattan by Maybelline Color Show. Well, I'm going to do my nails this color next time I do them, so I suppose I'm a little early. However, I liked the color I got from this line a little while ago, so I wanted another color. This line is the Maybelline Color Show, and they have quality, long lasting polish for a cheap price! When I do my nails this color, I'll be sure to post. You can check out my older post that I did about another color from this line here.

I hope you enjoyed the post! Stay tuned for some exciting posts coming up verrrrry soon! :)

Thanks for reading! Until next time!
